Research that informs
FOCUS AREA 1
Highlighting Underserved Needs
Singapore is a land of plenty, and the government and social sector do much to help the less fortunate.
However, some groups do fall through the cracks, and there remain needs that are underserved by the social sector. Our research highlights to philanthropists what some these underserved needs are.
FOCUS AREA 2
Quantifying Social Impact
Majurity’s research also goes towards building an in-house system of social impact metrics, to quantify programme impacts in a structured and systematic way. For each of our philanthropic funds, we put in place a fit-for-purpose measurement framework to aggregate and report on impact. This is because every fund has its own objectives and outcomes, and impact measurements are drawn up accordingly.
We also develop metrics that translate outcomes into monetised values, drawing from academic literature, and government and NGO reports.
Our metrics incorporate counterfactuals (measuring a programme’s impact by comparing what it achieved against what would have happened in its absence), as per best practices in impact measurement. Metrics also provide a common language for both organisations and philanthropists to have productive discussions about outcomes and social impact.
As a whole, our repository of metrics will help Majurity’s focus philanthropists’ attention on what grantee partners’ core impacts are.
FOCUS AREA 3
Measuring Outcomes
Our social impact metrics will sometimes require new tools and processes for collecting data. So Majurity’s research also aims to identify best practices from social sector research in other countries, adapts new surveys and methods, and works closely with partners and grantee partners to implement them on the ground.
With these new surveys and methods, we can get the empirical data we need for our metrics. Together, data and metrics will help Majurity identify the most effective and promising programmes – including pilots with the potential to become transformative solutions.
WE GIVE
BEYOND GRANTMAKING
100% of your donations will go towards the funds administered by Majurity.
These funds support charities that most effectively address the societal gaps identified by Majurity.
We make grants accessible

We’ve built a grant application platform that streamlines the process to make applying for and maintaining grants efficient, to simplify the process for newer charities, thus reducing the barriers to applying for grants.

We recognise that some nonprofits may have limited resources and experience in applying for grants.
To help bridge this gap, we conduct grant info-sessions and follow up calls to engage with prospective applicants.

How we remain accountable
Our research team systematically
identifies reliable measurements
and reports social impact as a
basket of metrics for each of our
philanthropic funds, based on
output and outcome indicators.
Both heart-led and data-driven in
our approach to social impact,
we complement our metrics with qualitative stories to capture the intangible aspects of social impact.
We work closely with grantee partners to adapt and implement the necessary surveys and data-gathering with their beneficiaries.
How we measure impact
Majurity maintains a feedback loop with grantee partners through:
