“Although we can’t be there with them physically. We want to let them know that we are thinking about them.”
You might recognise this grantee from his previous application for the nurses of the Institute of Mental Health, this time, Kwon Seng and his team, The Achievers, continued to show support for long-stay patients struggling with mental health. This time around, Kwon Seng has spread his reach out to Buangkok Green Medical Park, Pelangi Village, Sembawang Home and Moral Welfare Homes.

“Some of our nursing homes residents do not have many visitors to begin with and this pandemic has reduced such visits even more significantly. Although we can’t be there with them physically, we hope to brighten their day with a small goody bag. We want to let them know that we are thinking about them.”
Due to the severity of the pandemic, visitation for these patients have been greatly restricted for their own protection, so he believes that the snack packs will not only bring them cheer, but will also remind the patients that they are not in this alone. Although his project is small and simple, to the long-stay patients, their efforts were really meaningful.
“It is not easy to start a project but with the help of the Singapore Strong fund, volunteers have one less thing to worry about.”
We hope that Kwon Seng’s project will continue to inspire you to also look out for your community to remind them that we are not in this fight alone. Together, we are stronger than COVID-19.
