“We wanted to keep spirits up during the difficult times and also to support local tourist attractions as they are starting to lose businesses due to Circuit Breaker measures”
Even before the Circuit Breaker measures were implemented in April 2020, many families were already feeling the different stresses brought upon by COVID-19 situation. Wanting to give families a memorable March school holiday as well as support the hard-hit tourist attractions, #SGStrong grantee Ray of Hope organised a day out for low-income families.
The crowdfunding organisation brought 12 families to spend a day at Jurong Bird Park and Singapore Zoo. One of the beneficiaries, Mr Ansar, was especially thankful that his four children had this family time. “Due to our financial constraints, we were unable to make any plans for the children. Thank you for organising this during the March school holidays”.
With the current measures in place, projects of such nature are difficult to carry out. Nonetheless, Ray of Hope hopes to inspire everyone to continue being supportive of the various needs of our community in different ways. Together, we are stronger than COVID-19.
