As much as Circuit Breaker was a tough time for us all, it was especially had on persons with disabilities (PWDs) and their caregivers as they faced an unfathomable disruption to their daily activities. Wanting to help them plug this gap, #SGStrong grantee, Bryan Neo and his team, produced a series of bite sized videos with the aim of to educating and empowering PWDs with digital literacy skills.
With this belief in an inclusive smart nation and past experiences working with both caregivers and PWDs, Bryan had a passion for equipping them with foundational digital skills to help aid their transition into this “new normal” aka. life post-COVID-19. His team developed an animated series in both English and Mandarin, consisting of step-by-step video guides explaining the set up and usage of e-payments, email accounts and SingPass, which has become such an essential part of our daily lives.
“All of us, have our own unique experiences and skill sets. In this trying time of COVID, we should share what we are good at or are experienced in to enable those around us and the community we all share.”
Bryan Neo, BeTheWire
Bryan also acknowledges that it is greatly important for all Singaporeans to band together in times of need, regardless of the form we choose to engage in. Whether it be distributing goodie bags to appreciate essential workers, providing services for charitable organisations or facilitating online engagement sessions with caregivers, every effort counts toward protecting our people during this crisis.
We hope that this project will continue to inspire you to extend your support to your community. Together, we are stronger than COVID-19.
